The HP Business Inkjet 1000 is a portable, simple, and easy to use monochrome laser printer. With effective print speeds of 10 pages per minute, this printer is ideal for home and small businesses. This compact HP printer features standard USB interface which connects quickly to the PC. Thanks to the 600 x 600 dpi engine plus HP ImageREt technology, this laser printer provides increased detail in prints with resolution of 1,200 x 600 dpi. The setup for the HP Business Inkjet 1000  is straightforward. The printer measures 8.5 by 19.5 by 16.2 inches (HWD) and weighs 18.5 pounds, making it easy to move. One unusual touch is that you have to install four ink cartridges and four printheads. Having separate printheads and cartridges means you don’t have to throw out unused ink or perfectly good printheads when you replace a cartridge—and you don’t have to realign the printheads either.

Even better, you won’t have to replace the cartridges very often. Each cartridge comes in two capacities, with the high-capacity versions rated at 1,750 pages. HP rates the standard black cartridge at 800 pages and the standard colour cartridges at 1,000 pages. The printers printheads will outlast multiple cartridges, with the black printhead good for 16,000 pages and each colour printhead good for 24,000 pages.
